Bay State EMS Educators, LLC Privacy Policy (As of June 1, 2024)

 

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from https://baystateemseducators.com (the “Site”).

 

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

 

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

 

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

– “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, phone number, and date of birth on some certain registrations. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

 

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

 

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

 

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

  • Communicate with you;

  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and

  • When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

 

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

 

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

 

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. If your registration or training program is being sponsored or hosted by another organization, we may provide a copy of the roster containing the name, contact information, and completion status of the participants to the organization or sponsor.

 

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

 

BEHAVIORAL ADVERTISING

 

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. DATA RETENTION

 

When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 13.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.

REFUND AND CANCELLATION INFORMATION

 

ALL REGISTRATIONS MUST BE PRE-PAID. No seats will be reserved or certificates/credit awarded without payment.

 

No refunds or credits will be issued for incomplete coursework, failures, or absences.

 

If a student pays for a course and can no longer attend, a student can choose the same course within a 3 month period. Student must give a 24 hour notice of cancellation of all courses.  After 3 months without reschedule, no refund will be given.

 

Any books that have already been purchased cannot be returned.

 

Online course access codes and eBooks are non-refundable.

 

Except where noted (DOES NOT APPLY TO EMT COURSES), refunds for cancellations will be based on the number of BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE THE COURSE the cancellation is RECEIVED according to the following schedule:

  • 5 OR MORE: Full refund minus the cost of any issued materials unless they are returned in brand new condition (no damage, wear, marks or writing) BEFORE the start of the class;

  • LESS THAN 5: No refund;

  • If registered for the EMT Course, students will be refunded tuition except the $300.00 non-refundable deposit.

 

Student substitutions for a particular course are allowed up to the end of the business day before the course begins without fee or penalty.

 

Available seats are filled on a first come-first served basis.

 

Only preregistered students will be notified if the course is cancelled or rescheduled.

 

Bay State EMS Educators reserves the right to reschedule or cancel classes for lack of interest as measured by the number of preregistered students.  Courses may be cancelled or rescheduled for any reason including low enrollment, inclement weather, disaster, acts of God, instructor unavailability, and site availability. If a course is canceled or rescheduled, we will notify enrolled participants of the class either by email and phone or both. 

 

Cancellations due to inclement weather will also be posted to our social media pages, students will be emailed and/or called.

Registered participants of a cancelled or rescheduled course may reschedule at no cost to another course session or choose to cancel their registration for a full refund less the cost of materials that were already shipped or picked up. The cost of materials will be refunded if they are returned unopened in new condition within 30 days of the refund request.  The customer is responsible for return shipping.

When courses are filled, we accumulate a waiting list for applicants who submit complete registrations. As openings become available, applicants on the waiting list will be contacted based on the information on the registration form in the order their registrations were received and will be given one business day to accept the offered opening.

 

FOR EMT COURSES

 

Cost of Program:  $1,800.00

 

Non-Refundable Deposit:  $300.00

 

Total Amount Due after deposit:  $1,500.00

 

Deposits for EMS courses are non-refundable but may be transferred to another Bay State EMS Educators EMT Course which starts within 4 months of the course date that appears on the original registration receipt.

If a student should withdraw within these time frames, refunds will be issued minus fees (*$300 Non-Refundable Deposit):

  • Before or during Week 1: $1,500.00*

  • Week 2: 750.00*

  • Week 3: 375.00*

 

No refund will be issued after Week 3.

 

For Accelerated EMT Programs, no refunds will be issued once the program has begun.

 

All refunds will be made within thirty days.  Should a student withdraw from a course and tuition has not been paid in full, student is still responsible for any money owed to Bay State EMS Educators.

 

TUITION MUST BE PAID IN FULL PRIOR TO END OF CLASS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR NREMT COGNITIVE (WRITTEN) EXAM AND COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS PRACTICAL EXAM.

STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR EXAMINATION AND APPLICABLE STATE CERTIFICATION FEES NOT COVERED IN TUITION

NREMT Cognitive Examination:  $104.00

Commonwealth of Massachusetts Psychomotor Examination:  $225.00

 

REGISTRATIONS FOR EMT PSYCHOMOTOR EXAMINATIONS (PRACTICAL TESTING) MAY NOT BE RESCHEDULED AND NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR CANCELLATIONS

 

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION (AHA) DISCLAIMER

 

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

STATEMENT OF PHOTO RELEASE

When you register for a class, you hereby give your consent to Bay State EMS Educators, LLC, it’s legal representatives, successors and assigns, employees and any person acting with its permission, upon its authority or on its behalf, to use your name, voice, verbal statements, and portrait or picture (motion or still) for advertising purposes, for purposes of trade, public information, or for any lawful purpose whatsoever.
